Queen Mary Ill -- A Striking early portrait of Queen Mary. Queen Mary, the dowager Queen mother has been confined to her home at Marlborough House, London, for several weeks. To-Day, her doctors Sir John Weir and Lord Webb-Johnson spent Half-An-Hour at Marlborough House. Queen Mary's personal Physician, Sir Horace Evans, has been in close attendance for several days. It is understood that the Dowager Queen mother is suffering from a gastric complaint which prevents her from taking much nourishment. She is, however, attending to daily business with the help of secretaries. Queen Mary was a daughter of the Duke of Teck and was born in Kensington Palace, London, in 1867. March 03, 1953. Prince Helps Out Our Sid:
"I don't think they will sleep for a week at my home in Melbourne," said Sid Patters on after he won the world amateur cycling sprint champion ship here yesterday.
The Australian beat Frenchman Jacques Bellenger in two series in the final.
Patterson was awarded a laurel wreath and the champion's jersey.
The jersey was too small for the burly six-footer, and Prince Axel, of Denmark, had to help Patterson into it. August 29, 1949.

Adela Pankhurst Walsh in the 1930's needed only a chair to gather a crowd and espouse some cause in which she fervently believed.
Miss Adela Mary Pankhurst-Walsh who was a force in the suffragette movement more than home yesterday, aged 73.
She was the last surviving member of the famous Pnakhurst suffragette family. September 05, 1951.
