U.S. shipyards send damaged vessels back to sea workmen at a shipyard in the United States repair a jagged hole torn by a torpedo in the side of a United Nations vessel. The ship was returned to service with inn a short time. This is one of nine shipyards maintained by a single American shipbuilding company which has built or repaired 6,020 ships, aggregating 34,000,000 tons, since Dec. 7, 1941. September 23, 1943.
