Japan Brides Coming Home - Two pretty Japanese brides, one the wife of a New Zealand serviceman and the other wife of an Adelaide Soldier, arrived in Brisbane today aboard the liner Eastern.They are Mrs. Susan Sutherland, and Mrs. Yoshie Suvllivan, 26, wife of Cpl. J. D. Sullivan.Sgt. Sutherland, of the New Zealand Korea Force, arrived in the Eastern with his wife, and Cpl. Sullivan, of Adelaide, will meet his wife when the ship reaches Sydney.Sgt. Sutherland said he was the first New Zealand serviceman to marry a Japanese girl. They were married last June. September 19, 1953.
