This is the original handwritten Proclamation of Accession of Queen Elizabeth the Second, printed copies of which were read in various parts of London to-day (Friday). This original is pictured at the House of Lords, London. It is signed by "the Lords Spiritual and Temporal of this Realm, being here assisted with these of His late Majesty's Privy Council, with representatives of other members of the Commonwealth, with other Principal Gentlemen of Quality, with the Lord Mayor, Aldermen and Citizens of London..." In the original the signatures were continued onto another sheet. The second signature is that of Mr. Winston Churchill, the Prime Minsiter. February 8, 1952.

Their souvenirs were picked as the "prize winners" among the 800-odd articles already approved by the Coronation Souvenirs Committee of the Council of Industrial Design. The Loving Cup, 10½ inches high and hand-painted, was specially designed for the Coronation by Mr. C.J. Noke, Royal Doulton Art Director. On the side shown, it bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II framed by a background of Windsor Castle.
