This great scheme has grown out of the Greater London Highway Development Survey, better known as the Bressey Plan. It was prepared by Sir Charles ***** Bressey in consultation with Sir Edwin Lutyens, for the Ministry of Transport between 1934 and 1938. The Canadian Memorial.Canada's National War Memorial, which is to be erected in Ottawa, has now been completed. Designed by the late Mr. Vernon March, it is the work of five brothers each of whom has specialised in a particular branch of sculpture, and it consists of a great arch surmounted by symbols of victory and Liberty through which will pass representatives of the Canadian services who fought in the war. Our picture shows a scale model of the Memorial, in the workshop at Farnborough, Kent. Preparations are being made for assembling the Memorial in Hyde Park before it is shipped to Canada.
