"A Revolutionary Development in Better Hearing". - Madeleine Hobbs of Whitton (Mddx.) showing one of the modern hearing aids. The instrument is concealed by her Alice Band and the tiny battery can be hidden in the pocket. at 21, Wigmore Street, Mayfair (London) this morning, a Mannequin Parade - with a difference - took place. For this parade entitled a "Revolutionary Development in Better Hearing", arranged by the Ardent Hearing Service, Ltd. was designed to show the developments which have been made in hearing aids during the period 1910 to 1955. It was proved that today, deaf people need not feel self-conscious about wearing a deaf-aid, for the modern hearing aids, a far cry from the conspicuous Instruments of bygone days, can be concealed in such every day articles as ties, scarves, spectacles, jewellery, etc. May 10, 1955.
