Natives Defy Josburg Curfew - Civil Disobedience Arrests :Demonstrators give the defiance sign as some of their arrested comrades are driven away in a heavily-guarded-police wagon - with armed men on the tailboard - after an organized march in defiance of curfew regulations was broken up in Johannesburg. The march and curfew - breaking were part of the passive resistance campaign conducted by non-Europeans against the race segregation laws.
