Textile Fragment first half 16th century This silk lampas fragment is decorated with a repeating design of turbaned figures carrying animals. Men in the top row, accompanied by falcons perched on their left arms, hold dead ducks by their tails, while the figures below cradle gazelles in both arms. In the full textile, these rows would have continued to alternate, forming a staggered repeating pattern completed by the partridges, flying ducks, and flowered vines that fill the gaps between figures.
