The next several days prove to be very busy for the entire crew, as five spacewalks, two of which will have Good leaving the shirt sleeved environment of the shuttle to perform work on the Hubble Space Telescope, are in the offing.

The Space Shuttle Discovery is currently docked with the International Space Station while the STS-128 astronauts work with the Expedition 20 crewmembers aboard the orbital outpost. In the last several days, Olivas has already participated in two days of extravehicular activity and is preparing for his third and final spacewalk on Sept. 5.

ISS026-E-017024 (11 Jan. 2011) --- NASA astronaut Scott Kelly, Expedition 26 commander, works on the hardware setup for a Capillary Flow Experiment (CFE) Vane Gap-1 experiment. The CFE is positioned on the Maintenance Work Area in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station. CFE observes the flow of fluid, in particular capillary phenomena, in microgravity.

iss059e072518 (5/23/2019) --- Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut David Saint-Jacques is photographed working with the free-flying Astrobee cube named Bumble and the docking station onboard the International Space Station (ISS). Astrobee consists of three self-contained, free flying robots and a docking station for use inside the ISS. It is an autonomous free flyer powered by fans and operates in the entire U.S. Operating Segment (USOS) using vision-based navigation. The autonomous robots are operated remotely from the ground.

ISS018-E-010564 (5 Dec. 2008) --- Astronaut Michael Fincke, Expedition 18 commander, uses a computer at the robotics work station in the Destiny laboratory of the International Space Station. Using the station's robotic arm, Fincke and astronaut Sandra Magnus (out of frame), flight engineer, relocated the ESP-3 from the Mobile Base System back to the Cargo Carrier Attachment System on the P3 truss. The ESP-3 spare parts platform was temporarily parked on the MBS to clear the path for the spacewalks during STS-126.

iss059e087858 (June 3, 2019) --- Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques signs the inside of the vestibule between the SpaceX Dragon cargo craft and the Harmony module. The hatch to Dragon was later closed and the resupply ship detached from Harmony before it was released from the grips of the Canadarm2 robotic arm. Dragon spent nearly a month attached to the International Space Station.

STS097-330-028 (30 Nov.-11 Dec. 2000) --- Astronaut Michael J. Bloomfield, STS-97 pilot, occupies himself with an operational task on the aft flight deck of the Earth-orbiting Space Shuttle Endeavour. During the second space walk, Bloomfield spent a majority of his mission assignment near this area, as he was in charge of the controls for the remote manipulator system (RMS), located on the nearby panel.

iss050e038054 (02/03/2017) --- NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough is seen executing the SPHERES-RINGS experiment aboard the International Space Station. The investigation uses two small, self-contained satellites (SPHERES) fitted with donut-like rings (RINGS) to test wireless power transfer and formation flight using electromagnetic fields.

Astronaut Scott Kelly initiated VEG-01 B, the second crop of lettuce, on July, 8, 2015, and both Kelly and Astronaut Kjell Lindgren cared for the plants. The crop grew for 33 days. VEG-01 B included one set of six plant pillows planted with red romaine lettuce seeds. On Aug. 10, 2015, the crew harvested and consumed leaves from each plant. This was the first crop grown and consumed in NASA hardware. They harvested the rest of the plant tissue and froze it in the stations Minus Eighty-Degree Laboratory Freezer for ISS (MELFI) for return to Earth for further study including microbial analysis, antioxidant capacity, mineral analysis and anthocyanin concentration.

The space botany study grows mosses aboard the space station to determine how microgravity affects their growth, development, gene expression, photosynthetic activity and other features.

S133-E-008564 (4 March 2011) --- It's another moving day onboard the International Space Station, as NASA astronaut Steve Lindsey, STS-133 commander, participates in the team effort of 12 total astronauts and cosmonauts working together temporarily onboard the orbital outpost. The joint crews added the Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM) to the station earlier in the week.
