British Destroyer Transferred to Indian Navy.The Indian flag flies aboard H. M.I.S. "Ranjit" after the ceremony.The transfer of the British Destroyer H.M.S. "Redoubt" to the Government of India, took place at Chatham Dockyard. The Ship was handed over by Admiral Sir Henry Moore, C.-in-C. The Nore, on behalf of the Board of Admiralty and Mr. Krishna Menon, Indian High Commissioner, accepted the vessel on behalf of his Government. H.M.S. "Redoubt" played a conspicuous part in the naval operations of the 11th Destroyer in the Far East. The ship has been re-named H.M.I.S. "Ranjit". July 04, 1949.
