Sword of Jacob Cabeljauw.In 1573 the town of Alkmaar was besieged by Spanish troops. The Dutch commander Cabeljauw led the forces that defeated this attack and forced the Spanish to retreat. He was promoted to military governor of Alkmaar and was probably presented with this sword as a token of honour. The text on the blade was presumably added in the 18th century to record the swords historical significance.

Snuff Spoon, c. 1770. England, 18th century. Luxurious personal objects were an essential part of a privileged wardrobe during the 1700s and early 1800s, emphasizing their owners refinement and wealth. Especially popular were étuis, small ornamented cases containing miniature sewing, writing, or grooming implements that hung at a womans waist from an ornate clasp, known as a chatelaine. Despite its glittering surface, this small expensive set disguised a system based on the labor and suffering of enslaved or indentured people, whether in gold and stone mines or the shop where it was made.

Honorable with Schede by H. Colijn, Anonymous, 1900 presentation sword Eresabel awarded on behalf of Queen Wilhelmina to the then 1st lieutenant of the infantry KNIL H. Colijn. The saber has a silver hilt whose bump plate is decorated with floral motifs. The ivory grip is wounded with twisted silver thread and a handcap that floats into an encling button in the form of a crowned lion's head. There is a tarragon or sabel brush on the hilt. The blade is partly blewy and etched in relief with the text Queen Wilhelmina for the bravery // 1st lieutenant of the infantry H. Colyn. Aceh, June-December 1899. Tenor Recorder in C 18th century () German Recorders were popular with both professional and aristocratic amateur players during the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
