Railway bridge in Lidköping.lidköping - Skara - Stenstorps Railway, LSSJ Lok 8 "Billingen" with wagons.

The railway bridge over Moälven on the line just north of Mellansel, test load with the locomotive State railways, SJ L 838 and three test loading carts, one of which is the state's railways, SJ Q 1043. During transport, these wagons always went empty. After the wagons were rolled out on the bridge, the carnars' cisterns were filled with water. When the load test was clear, these were emptied again. In the picture, the water is being dropped.

Giant Cantilever bridge which spans St Lawrence River at Quebec. The great cetner span, 640 feet long and weighing 5,600 tons, is being hposted into place to complete the structure. It was a similar span which fell in 1916, carrying 90 men to death. The completed bridge is the largest of its type in the world, It cost $16,876,000, is 3,239 feet long, 88 feet wide, and 163 feet high from the base of rail to high water level. It carries two railroad tracks, a driveway for vehicles, and two concrete foot paths.

Aviation in Britain Before the First World War An excellent view of the Cody aircraft mark VIB Hydroplane on the Basingstoke Canal with Cody at the controls. This was both the last and the largest of Cody's aircraft and was intended to take part in the Daily Mail Coastal Circuit of Britain contest. This competition was to begin in August 1913 from Calshot near Southampton following the south and east coast to Inverness down the Caledonian canal to the west coast, across the Irish sea to Dublin, round Land's End to Falmouth and then returning to Southampton all to be done within 72 hours. The aircraft was again a biplane with a single frontal elevator and a single triangular rudder with horizontal appendage held on two spars so as to accommodate the large four bladed propeller in a pusher Configuration. There was a large central float one and two smaller ones beneath the wings level with the front elevator spars all of which were made by Harmsworth of the nearby Ash Vale Boathouse. Whil
