Georges Méliès was a French illusionist and filmmaker famous for leading many technical and narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. Méliès, a prolific innovator in the use of special effects, accidentally discovered the substitution stop trick in 1896, and was one of the first filmmakers to use multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, dissolves, and hand-painted color in his work. Because of his ability to seemingly manipulate and transform reality through cinematography, Méliès is sometimes referred to as the first 'Cinemagician'.

Santiago Alba Bonifaz (23 December 1872, Zamora 8 April 1949) was a Spanish politician and lawyer. He served as Minister of the Navy, Minister of Education and Science, Minister of the Interior, Minister of Housing, and Minister of Foreign Affairs during the reign of Alfonso XIII.

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, known by the alias Lenin (1870 - 1924), Russian communist revolutionary, politician and political theorist. He served as head of government of Soviet Russia from 1917 to 1924 and of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. Under his administration, Russia and then the wider Soviet Union became a one-party communist state governed by the Russian Communist Party. 'Landru - Bluebeard of France!', 1921, (1933). French serial killer Henri Désiré Landru (1869-1922), nicknamed 'The Bluebeard of Gambais', killed at least ten women (and one man) between 1915 and 1919. The police concluded that Landru had met or been in romantic correspondence with 283 women during the First World War. He was tried for 11 murders, found guilty and executed by guillotine on 25 February 1922. The true number of his victims, whose remains were never found, was almost certainly higher. Auguste Pavie (1847 - 1925) was the founding father of French influence in Laos. After a long career in Cambodia and Cochinchina, Pavie became the first French vice-consul in Luang Prabang in 1885, eventually becoming the first Governor-General and plenipotentiary minister of the newly formed French colony of Laos.
