Panel from a Ceiling 14th-15th century This wooden ceiling panel probably came from a palace or villa in Granada, originally part of a long ceiling covering a patio. The type, referred to in Spanish as artesonado, is well represented among the ceilings still in situ at the Alhambrafor example, the one that covers the porch of the Torre de las Damas. The geometric design, based on a star-and-polygon pattern and articulated by four muqarnas lanterns, would originally have been richly pigmented and highlighted with gilding.. Fragment of a glazed blue tile with Buyanquli Khan's name. Carved earthenware under coloured glaze, from a frieze around the entrance of the mausoleum at Bukhara in Uzbekistan that was erected over his grave. Buyanquli Khan was a Muslim descendant of the great Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan. He was assassinated in 1358 when he tried to assert his own authority. His tomb was built in a cemetery on the outskirts of Bukhara.
