War Comes To School- Life at Peckham Central School, London, England, 1943 Children in Form 1 at Peckham Central School listen to teacher Miss Sengoupta, from India, as she gives them a lesson in mathematics. Miss Sengoupta has written a number of sums on the blackboard. Various hand-drawn posters can be seen around the room, including one advising against careless talk. According to the original caption, Miss Sengoupta has been teaching at the school for about a month, and today her sari is pink.

At the College, 290 Fijian and Indian students of both sexes attend a two year course. Graduates receive a Government Teachers Certificate. Carpentry Shop.
