It includes interior decorations by Giulio Romano in the Palazzo del Te, Mantua, medieval mosaics in Sicily, and Roman wall paintings from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Wilhelm Zahn (1800-1871) was a German artist, architect and academic who traveled around Europe documenting classical and Renaissance architecture.
