For the Warao of the Orinoco Delta, the river provides water for everythingdrinking, brushing teeth, cooking, washingand that makes it a perfect vector for disease. Most Warao women have a number of babies but infant mortality is high and female life expectancy is low. Diarrhea and other water-born diseases as well as trash accumulations contribute to health issues.
