A Nubian man rides his camel down one of the main, dusty streets of Qubbat Selim. This village, situated close to the River Nile in Northern Sudan, still retains much of its traditional architecture, plasterwork and decoration. The curved, raised pattern on the walls is made with the serrated edge of a wood trowel or rake.
