Women Come Ashore With Pistols -- Customs officers today found automatic pistols strapped (shown above) around the waists of two women passengers aboard the Italian liner Toscana. The women - mother and daughter - were noticed to be walking awkwardly - and were searched. Then they were questioned for two hours by customs investigators, and released. Another daughter, 14 years old, had small bottles of liqueur essence in her belt. September 14, 1951.
