William Forsythe's THE SECOND DETAIL, created in 1991, celebrated its premiere at the Staatsballett Berlin in 2006. The ballet was revived in a new version in 2019. The fast-paced work, one of Forsythe's early but very typical creations, has long been seen in many classical companies around the world, with Forsythe pushing the dancers to the limits of their balance and flexibility. THE SECOND DETAIL is an immediate and sensual experience, not least because of Thom Willem's electronic score, which he originally composed for Forsythe's choreography.
