War club ca. 1800 Pawnee, Native American This ceremonial club, popularly referred to as a gunstock club, takes the form of a deer leg and is inscribed with cosmological imagery: one side has thirty-seven four-pointed stars, and the other has the graceful image of a comet complemented by four zigzag lines.
