In the summer of 1938. Huo went to Chongming (Shanghai) to mobilize armed uprisings. They later formed the unified "Chongming Guerrilla Headquarters", successfully defeating the Japanese. In January of 1939, Wang and Huo were murdered by Kuomintang.
