Wall painting of an arabesque with a mask of Oceanus found in Herculaneum, and two other ornaments of Oceanus and a lotus flower found in the Temple of Isis. All now in the Museum of Naples. Illustration drawn and lithographed by Victor Steeger from Emile Presuhn's "Les Decorations Murales de Pompei," Weigel, Leipzig, 1878. German archeologist Presuhn (1844-1881) lived in Italy for eight years and, with Mr. Discanno, made exact copies of many wall paintings that are now lost.
