A twilight sky of reds and yellows over the deep, dense blue of Mayotte's lagoon. Photo taken on November 11, 2024, the only day of the year when the tides are low enough at sunset to take half-air, half-water photographs showing the junction of two worlds. I spot a small coral islet in the middle of the white sand bordering the S-shaped pass to make my composition. A school of damselfish is still stirring in the water column before taking refuge between the coral branches to spend the night.
