Dyed wool, undyed linen; plain weave, slit-tapestry weave; overall: 24.5 x 22.9 cm (9 5/8 x 9 in.); mounted: 32.1 x 29.5 x 2.5 cm (12 5/8 x 11 5/8 x 1 in.). This oval originally belonged to a matched set that would have decorated either a unisex tunic or shawl. The fragment features a distinctive semi-abstract style of figural representation.
