This print captures a view of a famous place in Tokyo, Inokashira, associated with the water deity Benzaiten. ?gata Gekk? distinguished himself as a younger artist in the first exhibition of the Painting Appreciation Society (Kangakai) in 1885. He went on to earn prizes at worlds fairs and expositions in both the US and Europe.
