A trophy in the form of a shield made from timber and copper from Lord Nelson's flagship Foudroyant. has been given by C.Y.C. Commodore Mr. D.M. Brown for an interclub ocean racing teams' contest in the coming season. Clubs will be invited to nominate teams of three yachts to compete in three ocean events and points will be allocated in accordance with the C.Y.C. scoring system. The trophy will go for a year to the club to the nominating the winning team, and plagues will be awarded the three crews. Races selected for the contest are the Ron Robertson Memorial (around Tom Thumb), the Sydney-Hobart and the I.V. Cooper Memorial (around *****. September 16, 1940.
