Trooping Resumed -- Men of the Gloucestershire Regiment going aboard the "Carthage" at Southampton to-day (Wednesday). The second battalion the Gloucestershire Regiment, commanded by Lt. Col. R. J. Bewell, sails form Southampton to-day, Wednesday for service in Bermuda and Jamaica in the P. and O. liner "Carthage". They are the first battalion to leave this country with their families since before the war and 711 officers and men embarked this morning, after travelling to the port in two special trains. The 35 families sailing with them went on board yesterday. January 22, 1947.
