Trick No. 1 - 'How to master a man with two fingers' from 'How to Pose as a Strong Man', an article in Pearson's Magazine, March 1899 by Edward William Barton-Wright. Barton-Wright devised a hybrid martial art, after studying in Japan, that he called Bartitsu. The trick is that you continually throw your opponent off balance owing to the leverage obtained by the position in which he has to hold the chair. Date: 1899
