The first of a number of radio-controlled police cars, with attendant motor-cyclists, for use in the rapid investigation of road accidents and traffic congestion within the Metropolis was demonstrated at Scotland Yard today (Thursday). The patrol car, in a radio-telephonic communication with H.Q. is able to send a motorcyclist policemen rapidly in advance of it to any point indicated by the message. July 24, 1947.
