Toda People and their distinctive huts from Ooty, short for Ootacamund (sometimes abbreviated to Udhagai Tamil). A town and municipality (and the district capital) of the Nilgiris district in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Toda traditionally live in settlements consisting of three to seven of these small thatched houses, constructed in the shape of half-barrels and spread across the slopes of the pasture.
