Thrust Into Opera Stardom -- Two Excellent opera singers - Miss Rosina Raisbeck, who sang the part of 'Rotud' in 'Lonergrin' for the first time tonight at Covent Garden, London, in the absence of Edith Coates, in her dressing room before the performance -- both destined for eventual stardom had starring roles thrust on them at Covent Garden, London, tonight (Wednesday). They are Rosina Raisbeck, a dramatic soprano, and Thorsteinn Hannesson, a tenor. Both were in the cast, but were asked to take over the leads in the opera 'Lohengrin' when Edith Coates and Franz Lechleitner became suddenly ill with influenza Miss Raisbecdk joined the company after hare arrival from Australia in 1947.
