The Thousandth U.S. Soldier To Marry A Japanese -- The 1,000th. marriage in Progress in progress at the U.S. consulate in Tokyo. Sgt. Donald Kipker of Lima, Ohio, wed Mosuko Sakurai of Tokyo. The two have been friends for three years. The fraternisation between American soldiers of the United States Occupation Forces in Japan and Japanese girls, has resulted in an amazing number of marriages. One of the reasons for the many East-West marriages is the Westernisation of the Japanese girls. The average girls now go to business and are copying, in many ways, American girls, includings ways of dress. The 1,000th. of such marriages was performed recently in the American Consulate in Tokyo.
