They depict a repeating scene of a Safavid man, identifiable by his distinctive turban, being served by a kneeling servant amidst a blossoming landscape. Such figural designs were fairly common in Safavid silks and perhaps reflected the lifestyle of the elite in sixteenth century Iran.
