The patient was not a Smallpox Victim, but a young woman suffering from an acute abdominal condition which necessitated an immediate major operation. Her Vaccinal condition was satisfactory and after her clothes had been disinfected, she was taken by launch to fremantle and from there transferred to the Royal Perth Hospital. June 01, 1949.
