At Mountain Ash, Glamorgan, Wales, where the Welsh National Eisteddfod is being held, Princess Elizabeth was acclaimed by 20,000 miners and their families by her new bardic title of "Elisabeth of Windsor" when she was initiated as an ovate. The Princess was loudly cheered when she spoke a few words in Welsh "on with the Eisteddfod and blessings on Wales" her first in Public. August 1, 1946.
