Small group of the Royal West Kent regiment repelling German attacks in Trones Wood, France. The soldiers are reported to have been separated from their main force during a night attack on German lines in July 1916. They found themselves surrounded but resisted continuous attacks throughout the night until relief arrived early the next morning.
