Seen from the front. The frame of the upholstered back is a rectangle with a curve above and below, the latter changing into the inner panel of the central support; it has a trellis. The arms spring from the lower corners of the rectangle. The scroll is, at right, supported at the front by an urn. The front legs are: at left two crossed curved scrolls, at right a chimera. No back legs. On the verso is part of an architectural plan with some dimensions indicated. Pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash, graphite on off-white laid paper. Date: ca. 1785-1790.
