Scarab Inscribed with the Throne Name of Amenhotep III ca. 1390-1353 B.C. New Kingdom This scarab was made by pressing faience paste into a pottery mold. Before the paste was dry, a stamp inscribed with the throne name of Amenhotep III (Nebmaatre) was pressed onto the base, pushing some of the material over the edge of the mold.
