This scanning electron microscope (SEM) image revealed two Acanthamoeba polyphaga protozoa, as they interacted through their numerous pseudopodia, projecting from the surface of these organisms. These pseudopodia allow amoebas to move and grasp objects in their environment. In this particular case, it was not known whether these two amoebas were communicating, or coming to the conclusion of mitotic cell division, becoming separate organisms.
