A typical Turpin thunderbolt rally in which he sank his left fist deep into Buxton's short ribs followed by a finisher to the jaw ended the fight. Buxton heaved and tugged at himself to get up on the points of his feet during the count to continue the fight but while he was still hauling himself erect (see picture) referee Ben Green shouted "Ten" - and the fight was over.
