The Royal Navy during the Second World War Sikorsky IV helicopters of the British Naval Air Arm being used for instructional purposes at Floyd Bennett, New York, where Naval pilots are under instruction. One of the helicopters is just a couple of feet off the ground whilst the other looks to be at an altitude of around forty feet. In machine A are Sub Lieutenant Page, from Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada, and Lieutenant Sharpe, from Bradford, Yorks, England; and in machine G Sub Lieutenant Penfold, from Cardiff, Wales, and Flight Lieutenant Bradbury from Southampton, England (of the Royal Air Force).
