The Royal Marines Are Tough: Royal Marines ascending steep cliff by means of ropes after landing. This series of pictures illustrates the intensity of the tactics which prepare them for action under the most adverse conditions and ensures the consistency of their attack against the heaviest defense measure which they can meet. Some of these men have seen action at Calais (during the siege), Norway, Crete Madagascar and other theatres of war.
