The Restoration Of Virgil's Tomb At Naples -- A scheme for the preservation of Virgil's Tomb at Naples was approved by the Italian Government in 1925. The work has now been completed and the formal opening will take place in October. The scheme for the work included the strengthening of the foundations and the wall near them and the filling up of the ancient grotto to a level with the base of the tomb. Our photographs shows the tomb before the work of preservation was began. October 22, 1930.
