Great popular meeting against the House of Lords, held at Hyde Park (London), on 19 July 1884, as the Lords voted against the new act. Deputy Mr. Bright, who had decided to retire from political life, announced to the crowd that he would remain in his seat of honour to fight, once again, the ""good fight"", the great battle for freedom.
