Headed 'Clarence House, St. Jame's,' and dated 15th August 1950, it reads "Her Royal Highness the Princess Elizabeth, was safely delivered of a Princess at 11.50 AM (British Time) today. Her Royal highness and her daughter are both doing well". It is signed, from top to bottom, by Sir William Gilliatt, The Princess's Gynaecologist: John H. Peel, Vernon F.
