Radio "pies" are made of soap, Bob Dyer told visiting English comedian Tommy Trinder. Trinder tasted the "pie," cracked: "Even the soap tastes good in Australia." Dyer showed he could "take it," and, after the show, presented Trinder with a cheque for £50 for his "Food For Britain" appeal. January 05, 1947.
