Many of the fabrics have shades of purple in their designs. The center (or hearth) of each block is a piece of solid bright magenta challis. The border is pieced of alternating dark and light challis. Each small piece of fabric is quilted around its edge. The quilt is backed with a brown and red printed cotton..
