The Queen's Robing Room RestoredOne wall of the robing room with its ornamented fireplace and ceiling. When parliament is again opened in state the Queen will be robed in the same room as that used by Queen Victoria in 1880, the last occasion when she opened parliament. When the chamber of the House of Commons was bombed in 1941, the House of Lords moved into the Royal Robing Room. The Commons moved to the former House of Lords. Now both Lords and Commons are back in their original places, had to be rebuilt. The Robing Room too is almost ready for its proper use again.
