The Queen Returns From Holiday -- The Queen descending from her airplane at London Airport. Like many hundreds of thousands of other holiday makers the Queen found that Britain's rail strike presented a considerable problem when she was due to return to London on Sunday from her Whitsun holiday at Balmoral. The Queen got over the difficulty by returning to London by air. At London Airport 4,000 people waited to greet her. They admired the Queen's blue suit and matching velvet hat. June 5, 1955.
